These are running in 6-week courses, following school terms. Classes are in person in the studio. Livestreaming option is also available.

 
 

Pregnancy & Postnatal Pilates

We’ve been teaching Pre & Postnatal Pilates since 2011 (when we started our journey as Yummy Pilates!). Choose a class below or read about the benefits of Pregnancy & Postnatal Pilates.

 
Prenatal Pilates - 6-week Course.

Our Prenatal Classes run on Mondays at 6 pm. Term time only.

Prenatal Pilates is a safe and low-impact workout that can be practised during pregnancy to increase flexibility, strength, and muscle tone. The workout focuses on improving your core and posture by incorporating a resistance band, gym ball, Pilates ring, and small hand weights, making it both exciting and challenging.

Regularly practising Pilates can help improve your posture, alleviate backaches, and ultimately assist with labour, delivery, and quicker recovery.

We recommend starting this workout during the 12th week of pregnancy, and continuing as long as comfortable.

Before you book a course

  • We recommend joining from the second and third trimesters. In your first trimester, you may feel tired, but if you are working out regularly, you may be fine to carry on with it. Please make sure you inform your class teacher.

    Pregnancy Guidelines:

    In the first trimester, all courses & classes should be suitable for an uncomplicated pregnancy. This is providing that you have discussed this with your GP / Midwife. However, with our AnteNatal classes & courses, we would generally recommend starting after 12 weeks onwards.

  • As long as you like. Some ladies carry on till the end of their pregnancies some is stopping around 38 weeks mark.

  • Please see our scheduled courses above.

    It may be possible to join in between if we have availability.

  • Once your booking is confirmed you will be scheduled for 6 consecutive weeks.

    You will receive a confirmation in your browser immediately after booking, as well as to your email address. In this confirmation, you will be asked to fill out a registration form. If you do not receive a confirmation by email, please contact us at hello@beyondmove.com. You can find our forms at the bottom of the webpage.

  • Unfortunately, we don’t offer a trial class. If there is a space we recommend you book a single class if you are unsure of rolling in the full course. (In an event that the course gets fully booked, we may have to refund your single class.)

  • Your 6-week classes of studio & online classes are valid for only the course you have booked.

    We allow rescheduling one class in the 6-week course if there is a similar level of class running on the same week/term. We, however require 24h notice, and we also have to confirm whether a place is available.

    If you are unwell, please don’t come to the studio. We are happy to change the in-person class to an Online live class. We require a minimum of 2h notice if you want to switch to online.

    If you develop a medical condition, we may be able to postpone your classes or offer you another class option. Please note that no refund is available.

  • We are happy to postpone your remaining classes and when you are ready you can join back to a relevant class eg. a postnatal rehabilitation class/ Alternatively, you can change to pay-as-you-go options or email us at hello@beyondmove.com and we are happy to look into individual options.

  • With a maximum of 7/8 attendees per class, our small group sessions allow our instructors to focus on and assist each individual.

  • We are teaching our Prenatal classes in our studio in North London. We have an option to join our class online which is listed on our website separately.

  • We provide all equipment in the studio. However, feel free to bring your own mats etc.

    In pregnancy and postnatal classes online home classes, we recommend getting:

    gym ball

    a resistance band (medium)

    mat

    block (books)

    pillows / cushions

    softball or kitchen towel

    small hand weights (0.5kg) or 2 small water bottles (0.5l).

  • Appropriate clothing is essential as you are going to want to be comfortable. We recommend leggings or shorts and either a t-shirt or a comfy top.

    Non-slip socks are highly recommended.

Pilates for Back Pain

This class is designed for people with back, shoulder and hip problems.

The class is gentle and slow movements enable to focus on alignment, better technique and safe workout.
